INTRODUCTION
This is one of the difficult issues to dialogue about, but it is an issue that needs to be dealt with - What was the religious affiliation of: - Those who enslaved and murdered the Native Americans; - Those who colonized most of what is now the “Third World”; - Those who dropped the atomic bomb; - Those who developed and participated in the political systems of Naziism and Fascism; - Those who carried out the Rwandan genocide?; - Those who participated in torture at Abu Ghraib; - Those who carried out ethnic cleansing against the Bosnian Muslims; - Those who were responsible for the death of millions in Germany’s death camps? If the answer to any of these questions had been Islam then the criminals would have been identified as “Islamic” .......
“The leap from deviant Muslims perpetrating atrocities to a religion being impugned for the sins of its supposed adherents is breath-taking in its audacity. Demonizing Islam makes it the enemy in the ‘’war on terror.” ... Ironically, it is us Muslims who have the greatest vested interest in eradicating terrorism. We need to do this to salvage our religion and our self-respect. As long as we are marginalized by the West and taunted by the extremists, we are made to feel as if we were part of the problem rather than of the solution, and our commitment becomes ambivalent. Clearly we have free speech in the U.S., and the line between hate speech and free speech is difficult to draw. My hope as an American Muslim is that we are able to learn to have respectful speech that does not close off the possibility of dialogue and alienate the very Muslims who could act as a bridge between cultures.
These quotes are being collected because to Muslims they represent Islamophobic statements that do damage to any possibility of dialogue.

Mark Alexander - Make no mistake about it: Islam is our enemy. Islam represents all that is abhorrent to the West: coercion, lack of religious freedom, totalitarianism, and much else besides. But, as the West was built up on largely Christian principles, it is also the negation of the notion that Jesus Christ is man’s Saviour, man’s Redeemer. They’re not interested in peace.” and “I think that we are at war with Islam. And there’s no middle ground in wars. Islam can be defeated in many ways. For starters, you stop the spread of the ideology itself; at present, there are native Westerners converting to Islam, and they’re the most fanatical sometimes. There is infiltration of Islam in the schools and universities of the West. You stop that. You stop the symbol burning and the effigy burning, and you look them in the eye and flex your muscles and you say, “This is a warning. Peter Boyles, KHOW-AM Radio host - discussing the case of a jailed Iraqi man who is suing U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) when he stated, “[T]he guy comes from the Arab world. You can beat your woman up over there.”
Peter Boyles Peter Boyles of 630 KHOW-AM is the most recent Denver-based Clear Channel Communications host to engage in anti-Muslim rhetoric, telling a caller on his May 30 show that “the enemy” is “radical, crazy, religious Islam.” Boyles also agreed with the caller’s suggestions that the United States should bar “Islamic immigration” and that Islam should be declared “a political ideology.”
Sen. Kevin Bryant of South Carolina has removed a classy photo from his website showing Osama Bin Laden next to Barack Obama with text claiming the difference between them is “just a little B.S.” 7/08

Christian Broadcasting Network News - on Ramadan celebration at White House - Islam, referred to by some politicians as a religion of peace, is viewed by many conservative Americans as a faith rooted in violence and hostility toward non-Muslims, collectively referred to as “infidels.” ... “The Bible teaches that leaders who embraced, tolerated or celebrated foreign gods brought suffering and disaster upon their nation.” 10/07
Christian Voice group holds prayer meeting against Islam in Britain - But don’t get the idea that Christian Voice is moved by hostility towards adherents of another religion. Not at all: “Love for God and for our neighbour is what motivates us, so while we shall pray against Islam, we shall also pray for salvation for Muslims and for them to be brought into the kingdom of God by faith in the incarnate Son of God, the crucified, risen, ascended Lord Jesus Christ.” 10/07

Coloradio Radio Host Calls Islam a Violent Religion, Summary: Subbing for “Gunny” Bob Newman on his Newsradio 850 KOA show, guest host Lou Pate repeatedly smeared Muslims, calling Islam “a violent religion” and at one point asking listeners, “Do you want to comment on a good Muslim? I can’t think of one.”
Tom Cooper, The Israel Report “Allah is NOT the same God as the God of the Jews and Christians. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) June 23 speech at a church in Hartford, Connecticut, co-host Alan Colmes asked right-wing pundit Ann Coulter if “[o]nly Republicans can talk in churches.” Coulter responded: “No, but I do think anyone named B. Hussein Obama should avoid using ‘hijack’ and ‘religion’ in the same sentence.” Colmes replied: “I see. So, in other words, you want to paint him as a terrorist by continuing to highlight that his middle name is Hussein?” Coulter stated: “Just avoid those two together. ... Avoid ‘hijack and ‘religion.’ “

FLIER: Anonymous Anti-Muslim Flier in Florida, It accused Muslims of stockpiling anthrax in America and smuggling suitcase-sized nuclear bombs across the Mexican border. If the worst happened, it asked, “Are you prepared for eternity? If this tragedy happened today, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?”
Hugh Fitzgerald - On July 21, 2007 Jihad Watch posted an article by Hugh Fitzgerald regarding Bob Crane’s recent article in TAM. The article opens with the following statement: “Former Nixon aide Robert D. Crane is a convert to Islam, and his biography—the one he himself composed—shows other evidence of mental bizarrerie (to see it, google “Robert D. Crane” and “Posted by Hugh” and “Jihad Watch"). He has a vested interest in protecting Islam, and protecting as well his own emotional investment in Islam, as a convert. At this point, he is unlikely to say—it would be impossible for him to say, given his mental makeup, to say or even to allow himself a glimmer of a hint of saying or thinking anything like this: “Yes, you’re right, I ‘reverted’ to something I did not understand.” “Islam is quite different from what the naïve revert may think. Rudy Giuliani “At no time during their three debates have they used the words ‘Islamic terrorists,’” Giuliani said of the Democratic contenders who as he spoke were debating at The Citadel military college in South Carolina. “If they do tonight, I will take credit for it.” 7/23/07 - In his speech at the RNC Rudy Giuliani said: “For four days in Denver, the Democrats were afraid to use the term “Islamic terrorism.” I imagine they believe it is politically incorrect to say it. I think they believe they will insult someone. Please tell me, who they are insulting if they say, “Islamic terrorism.” They are insulting terrorists!” 9-08 Rudy Giuliani Adviser, Rep. Peter King said: “Too Many Mosques” in the U.S. His Remark Draws Fire From Muslims, Democrats. A Rudy Giuliani campaign booster said the U.S. needs to defeat “the Muslims” - or “chase them back to their caves.” John Deady, co-chair of the New Hampshire Veterans for Rudy group, told The Guardian of London, “We need to...keep pressing these people until we defeat or chase them back to their caves or in other words get rid of them.” Asked if he was referring to all Muslims, Deady said he was. “I don’t subscribe to the principle that there are good Muslims and bad Muslims,” he told the TPM Election Central Web site. “When I say get rid of them, I wasn’t necessarily referring to genocide,” he said. Virgil Goode (R-VA) said supporting the anti-escalation resolution would “aid and assist the Islamic jihadists who want the crescent and star to wave over the Capitol of the United States and over the White House of this country.” Moreover, he said, “I fear that radical Muslims who want to control the Middle East and ultimately the world would love to see ‘In God We Trust’ stricken from our money and replaced with ‘In Muhammad We Trust.’”
Rep. Virgil Goode During today’s House debate on Iraq, virulently anti-Muslim Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) said supporting the anti-escalation resolution would “aid and assist the Islamic jihadists who want the crescent and star to wave over the Capitol of the United States and over the White House of this country.” Moreover, he said, “I fear that radical Muslims who want to control the Middle East and ultimately the world would love to see ‘In God We Trust’ stricken from our money and replaced with ‘In Muhammad We Trust.’” 2-15
Joerg Haeder, Austria wants to ban mosques “We don’t want a clash of cultures and we don’t want institutions which are alien to our culture being erected in Western Europe,” Haider said in a statement. “Muslims have of course the right to practise their religion, but I oppose erecting mosques and minarets as centres to advertise the power of Islam,” he said. 8/27
Harris County Texas Republican Chairman Jared Woodfill - Harris County Republican Chairman Jared Woodfill said the timing of the Muslim prayer outraged him. “I’m shocked that the day before the Easter recess that a Muslim is leading the prayer,” Woodfill said. “They should be having a celebration about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Woodfill said the invocation should be delivered by someone who represents Judeo-Christian values. 4/4/07
Paul Hollrah in The Conservative Voice “And if we allow Muslims to have complete religious freedom, will we also allow their Muezzins to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer over loudspeakers five times a day – at dawn, at midday, in mid-afternoon, at sunset, and two hours after sunset – in every city and town in America? And if we find a way to prohibit them from doing so, how long will it be before Muslims and the ACLU use the “equal protection” clause of our Constitution to prohibit Christian churches from sounding their steeple bells on Sunday morning? Mike Huckabee’s Iowa campaign manager Bob Vander Plaats appearing on Tucker on MSNBC, stated that “we’re fighting a radical religion in Islam” and that “the war on terror is a theological war.” 12/19/07 New Huckabee advisor James Pinkerton Called For ‘A Cop In Front Of Every Mosque’ Just ‘For Safe Keeping’ 1/08 Mike Huckbee claims that he would rather change the constitution than the word of the living God and that we should amend the constitution so that it fits with God’s standards. 1/08
Amil Imani, Pacifism Against Radical Islam Invites Doomsday - “Perhaps it is wishful thinking on the part of the non-Muslims to believe that one even can be a Muslim moderate, given that Islam is radical at its very core. To be a moderate Muslim demands that a person explicitly renounce much of the violent, exclusionary, and radical teachings of the Quran. By so doing, the individual issues his own death warrant in Islamic countries, is condemned as an apostate if he lives in a non-Islamic land and may even earn a fatwa on his head.” 5/07 - Amil Imani, 5/21/2007 The terror and death inflicted on humanity is not the work of radical Islam, neither the political Islam, nor the militant Islam. Laura Ingraham on her radio program on April 10, 2007 said in a discussion about the Saudi religious police and women - “if you even get behind the wheel of a car in Saudi Arabia, they’ll drive you off the road and behead you in front of your family.”
Islam Is Not the Enemy article - brings up the lie of dar al-harb, dar al-Islam division of the world - will none of these people ever acknowledge dar al-Hudna, dar al-Ahd, or dar al-Sulh - ”As I wrote a few weeks ago, “Americans are alarmed by the advance of Islam into our society, and properly so, for who will assimilate to whom? In order not to get there, limit the immigration and therefore you keep them a marginal minority, which will be a nuisance, but cannot pose a threat to the demographic and security aspects of a country.”

Bill Keller, WTOG TV in Tampa “In the hate-filled program, ‘Live Prayer with Bill Keller,’ Islam and Muslims are referred to in the most vicious and bigoted of terms. For example on May 2, 2007, host Bill Keller said: ‘Islam is a 1400-year-old lie from the pits of hell. It’s leading a billion peoples [sic] to hell. . .those who follow this false religion will die and be lost for all eternity.’ On the same program, he also said, ‘The false religion of Islam is about hate, lies and death.’ VIDEO of his statements. - has now posted a new video with a pig named Muhammad saying negative things about Islam. 11/07
King, Rep. Peter, a Giuliani aide claiming there were “too many mosques” in the United States — and defended himself by saying his point was that not enough Muslim leaders cooperate with law enforcement. In the Politico interview, King said: “Unfortunately we have too many mosques in this country, there’s too many people who are sympathetic to radical Islam. We should be looking at them more carefully, we should be finding out how we can infiltrate, we should be much more aggressive in law enforcement.” 9/19/07 The Democratic National Committee criticized his comments
KFSO Radio Hate Speech - Sussman: I would take it that you are probably Muslim. Caller: No, I’m independent. I do not subscribe. Sussman: You don’t … Well, why don’t you just right now say, “Allah is a w****” and that would prove it to me. Caller: Allah … I would not say that.
