- Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi was originally born in Tunisia to a religious family. Growing up, he was a student activist. He was a veteran of the Tunisian Student Movement.

- In his studies, Dr. Ghannouchi focused on Chemical Engineering, for which he got his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

- Currently Dr. Ghannouchi is working as the President of the Muslim American Society, a grass root Islamic movement that strives to establish Islam as a comprehensive way of life.

- He is also the Editor-in-chief of the American Muslim Magazine.

- He served as President and Imam of the Islamic center of Madison for several years.

- Dr. Ghannouchi is married and has 3 children.
